the intrinsic value of beyonce’s – thighs & ;-*
there are people who believe that beyonce’s performance at the super bowl demonstrates the power of women. puuuhhlllleeeeeaaaaaaasssssssee.
if that’s the future for my daughter than margaret atwood had it absolutely right in ‘a hand maid’s tale’ – when she posited the notion that the future for women would only be as breeders. that society should only select those who appear to represent the ‘ideal’ image, age, and initially latent, until proven, potent abilities of the female form and function – for the sole value of procreation.
it’s all about the sex, baby. (actually i think a gay man wrote that – but it’s apparently the truth for all of us in 2013.) you have to have ‘appeal’ to be anything. fucking great, really?!? (Oh and to the a-hole in the top blogs who asks about kissing ugly folk – a big f*ck off to you and your arrogance. we should all strive to be like you, to blog like you, to think small petty thoughts for the ‘common good’ – just like you. for good reason i (and many others) stay as far away from your condescending bottom feeder crap as i (we) can – you can chuckle and laugh about what ‘excites people – stirs the proverbial pot’ – and the greater good your mere prescence blesses all of us with – get your little woody stroked somewhere else
ain’t happening here…)
never mind the hilary clinton’s; the margaret thatcher’s; the angela merkel’s; the bonnie raitt’s; the rosa park’s; the tina fey’s; the alex morgan’s; the oprah winfrey’s; the aretha franklin’s… as a nation we have profoundly advanced the value and role of women in not just our society (we strive for the value of the woman as a whole) – and more importantly their future role, as far, far, more often than not, the glue which bonds our society, actually our species (and scientifically – many others) – together… i could go on… how about it ladies – all you’re good for is some t & a?!? to be put up on a pedestal so we (well – accordingly – only the handsome worthy male folk) can ogle and ‘appreciate’ the ‘finer’ things in life…
i get it – beyonce – it was at the middle of a football game (perhaps even a remotely compelling one) – the penultimate male dominated knuckle dragging concussive socially athletic homoerotic experience – why shouldn’t there be some ‘meat on the table?’ yes, she’s gorgeous, yes, she can dance (i couldn’t do that sh*t in them shoes) – not convinced on any level she can sing (‘put a ring on it?’ (head hits table and leaves a mark…) – want to see a ‘chick’ perform (i’m borrowing from u_i_s (sorry and thanks…)
there’s nothing wrong with being sexy – but not as a role model – don’t tell me she’s a role model, that she advances the cause of women and girls… how many more hilton’s; kardashian’s; lohan’s; snooki’s do we need? i’d offer – zero, none…
i have to leave now – apparently i have to go find someone to marry my daughter off to before all the really good ones are taken – you know, just in case… elvis forbid – she might chose an ugly one…

yeah, and you know who else is the perfect example of this? Britney Spears. Amirite? I mean, seriously, she most definitely can’t sing. And if she looked like she did when she didn’t look good, she’d be singing at her local whatever bar. It just so happened for her that she became famous when she was, what, 16? Lots of us look pretty hot when we’re only 16. Anywayyy… #amentothat
@Peridot21 - there’s so much engineering and effects on all their stuff… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz2mL8HyJrY&playnext=1&list=PLF806B5BD1A6FD02B&feature=results_main
The gal with the soccer ball…..now that is talent and skill.
@vexations - and we didn’t even have to see her in her underwear! amazing!
thanks vex! (she’s a soccer player @ unc – she trains about 3 hours a day just on those foot skills alone… hardcore!)
One of my godchildren was a starter for the South Carolina soccer team a few years ago, she was not as good as the NC gal but she was an amazing athlete
@vexations - this gal indi cowie – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUvFyZNORRM is a one in a lifetime… but sc – that’s a pretty fine player in her own right!
Peaches was one of the craziest concerts I’ve ever been to in my life
@godfatherofgreenbay - see – that would be a show, a spectacle unto itself… Certainly not Super Bowl halftime appropriate – but some tongue in cheek – so to speak… The beyonce (maybe not necessarily from her perspective) was all serious and latent with “f*ck me on prime time messages…”
Well said. Excellent post. I agree with what you have said.
It kills me when people say Beyonce represents the power of women or that she is some kind of role model especially when they are the type of woman to complain about society only valuing women for their looks. I think things will change when more women believe and live their life based on the fact that they are more than their just their looks. I am not saying women shouldn’t flaunt what they have, but they should be able to back it up with a brain and personality, too.
I am not sure how I feel about this new side of you, but I think I like it. If I become a role model, I will keep my clothes on in public – honest.
@angys_coco - thanks very much for stopping in and commenting – i appreciate that.
@Erika_Steele - thanks for the rec! much appreciated e_s_… yeah – i’m completely baffled by the whole thing… i expect my daughter to kick ass and take names – she’s as smart, intelligent and most likely, far more communicative than any man… so go forth and rock… but don’t roll for the sake of rolling…
@BoulderChristina - it’s not about keeping your clothes on bc – i’m all about ‘the get down stay down’… but you – for instance – are a role model here – lots of people read your posts, you are mature, well spoken, sexy, you write intelligent persuasive informed content – and that’s as provocative and compelling as sending me nudie pics (most of the time – which, i can’t find, so if you get the time…
why shouldn’t that be what we, as a society, strive for as the primary component of what defines a woman – not that first – oh, she sure can shake her ass – and we are left to wonder if she can chew gum at the same time, but she sure new where the cameras were didn’t she… women rock. period. enough said – don’t dumb anything down… push the envelope… with smarts first, tarts as a second course…
what new side?!?
Do I need to have seen the beyonce spectacle or have female children or the stable government approved lifestyle to adopt one to comment?

confidence sells sexy so well. … but seriously, two schools or ding! choice, one school, be yourself and enjoy life or scchool 2 only outward trappings prove value. one has it or one does not. those who want to have it… oi, those who learned their value radiates out not back to them ahhh. before I look intelligent I want a date and a modest amount of outward trappings….lol oh the struggles to matter
@starmanjones - i like that link starman – thanks – i plan on sharing with my daughter!
the opening band was a German outfit named Electrocute. They were two girls in suspenders that barely covered anything. Yeah that was a wild show.
@xplorrn -
So… much… win…
@LKJSlain - thanks ever so kindly ms. lkjs…
@xplorrn - Mrs. But, thank you.
I always wonder what we are teaching our young women. They seem so confused in this day and age. I don’t always understand. We seem to tell them through commercials and stuff that looks are not all that is important, and yet there seem to be very few people who stick to that. I know that if I were ever famous you’d never catch me strutting around in an outfit like the one that Beyonce wore at the SB. Not because I’m not sexy, but because I know that the entire generation might be looking up to me.
Eating Disorders are at an all time high, and in children as young as 12 years old.
Something isn’t working.
@theartofsexy - sorry i didn’t see this until just now – my sincere apologies. very true about something not working – and at twisted proportions…i think there are so many families that only see the parents parked in front of the tv or monitor – so the only ‘reality’ kids see is what they are watching remotely on a screen and in their parents… and that connectivity actually ‘disconnectivity’ – isn’t so great in fact it’s lousy. thanks so much for stopping by and commenting – much appreciated.
