Do you wonder about the conversations you should have had.
About the things you should have said.
About the things
You know – those things.
That happened.
To you.
To them
Or him and her.
Do you wonder about the things you didn’t do.
‘As to others unto you’
They claim a wise man said that
But we really don’t know if he was skinny or simply ‘phat’
Up with this and
Down with that.
About those things you didn’t do
That we shouldn’t do
But someone really did
Them
Have done them
Didn’t they
How else would we know
If they got away with
The things they got away with
That we didn’t say anything about
Those things
But are you glad you did them
They felt good that way
And this way is really the reality
Of all the things we say
That we did we did
And said we said
Because we had to
Let them out
Out of our mouths
Out of our heads
Better left said
Than heard by all that have left us
Or still sleeping soundly
Through life
Love and any pursuit
Just any pursuit.
